Author Guidelines

 

1. FORMAT

Authors are required to prepare manuscripts using the official J-PIS template and comply with the following formatting requirements:

  • Manuscripts must be written in Bahasa Indonesia.
  • The paper should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx format).
  • The main text should use Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing.
  • The title should be written in uppercase letters, bold, Times New Roman 12 pt, and should not exceed 20 words.
  • Authors’ names should be written without academic titles using Times New Roman 11 pt bold.
  • Affiliation information should include department/program, faculty, institution, and country.
  • Corresponding author's email address and phone number must be provided.
  • All pages should follow the formatting style provided in the journal template.
  • Scientific terms, symbols, abbreviations, and units must be used consistently throughout the manuscript.

2. ARTICLE STRUCTURE

The manuscript should be organized in the following order:

Title

A concise and informative title reflecting the content of the community service activity.

Author(s) and Affiliation(s)

Include the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, and corresponding author's contact information.

Abstract

The abstract should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and contain 200–250 words in a single paragraph. It should clearly describe:

  • Background/problem statement
  • Objectives
  • Methods/approach
  • Main results and outcomes

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords separated by commas.

Abstract (English)

An English version of the abstract containing 200–250 words with the same structure as the Indonesian abstract.

Keywords (English)

Provide 3–5 keywords in English.

Introduction

The introduction should include:

  • Background and significance of the community service program.
  • Description of the community problems, needs, or challenges.
  • Literature review and situational analysis.
  • Previous related activities conducted by other parties.
  • Innovation or implementation derived from research results.
  • Objectives of the community service activity.

Authors are encouraged to use recent and primary references, especially journal articles and conference proceedings published within the last ten years.

Methods

This section should explain:

  • Activity design and implementation procedures.
  • Selection of community partners or beneficiaries.
  • Materials, tools, and techniques used.
  • Data collection methods.
  • Data analysis techniques.
  • Evaluation procedures.

Results and Discussion

This section should present:

  • Outputs or products generated from the activity.
  • Implementation results and achievements.
  • Supporting documentation such as tables, figures, photographs, charts, and graphs.
  • Advantages and limitations of the implemented program.
  • Discussion of the impact and sustainability of the activity.

Conclusion

Provide a concise summary of the main findings and achievements of the community service activity.

Suggestions/Recommendations

Present recommendations for future implementation, program improvement, or further development.

3. TABLES AND FIGURES

Tables

  • Tables must be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.).
  • Table titles should be placed above the table and centered.
  • Use Times New Roman 10 pt.
  • Avoid vertical lines whenever possible.

Figures

  • Figures must be numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.).
  • Figure captions should be placed below the figure and centered.
  • Photographs, diagrams, charts, and illustrations should be clear and of high quality.
  • Use Times New Roman 10 pt for captions.

Equations

  • Equations should be created using Microsoft Equation or a similar equation editor.
  • Equations should be numbered sequentially when referenced in the text.

4. CITATION

  • All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.
  • In-text citations should follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style.
  • Every statement, theory, method, or result adopted from previous works must be appropriately cited.

5. REFERENCES

The reference list should contain only sources cited in the manuscript.

Requirements:

  • Use APA Style.
  • A minimum of eight (8) journal references is required.
  • Authors are encouraged to use recent references published within the last ten years.
  • Priority should be given to peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings.

6. ONLINE SUBMITTING MANUSCRIPT GUIDELINES

Authors should follow these steps for online submission:

  1. Register as an Author in the journal submission system.
  2. Log in using the registered username and password.
  3. Select “New Submission”.
  4. Complete all metadata, including title, abstract, keywords, and author information.
  5. Upload the manuscript file in Microsoft Word format.
  6. Upload supplementary files if required.
  7. Confirm the submission and complete all submission steps.
  8. Authors will receive a confirmation email after successful submission.

Authors are advised to ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows the journal template.
  • All author information is complete and accurate.
  • References and citations comply with APA style.
  • The manuscript has been proofread before submission.

7. REVIEW METHOD

J-PIS implements a peer-review process to ensure the quality and originality of published articles.

The review process consists of:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening
    • The Editorial Board evaluates the manuscript's scope, format, completeness, and compliance with journal guidelines.
  2. Peer Review
    • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent to independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic.
    • Reviewers assess originality, methodological quality, relevance, contribution to community development, clarity of presentation, and adequacy of references.
  3. Revision Stage
    • Authors may be required to revise the manuscript based on reviewers’ comments and recommendations.
  4. Final Decision
    • The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision:
      • Accepted
      • Accepted with Minor Revisions
      • Accepted with Major Revisions
      • Rejected
  5. Publication
    • Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and publication.

The editorial decision is final and based on reviewer recommendations and editorial considerations.
