THE INFLUENCE OF JOB SATISFACTION ON THE PERFORMANCE OF ELECTRICIANS AT PT. XYZ BATAM

Abstract

PT. XYZ Batam, an offshore construction services company, faces challenges in maintaining job satisfaction and the performance of cable pulling workers due to inconsistent cable pulling results that have not been fully stable throughout the project period. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of job satisfaction on the performance of cable pulling workers in the Electrician Department at PT. XYZ Batam. The method used is a quantitative method. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 33 respondents. The results of the linear regression analysis showed that the job satisfaction variable (X) has a postive coefficient of 0.461, indicating that job satisfaction (X) has a positive effect on performance (Y). The t-test results obtained a Sig. value for the partial effect of job satisfaction on performance of 0.006<0.05, so it can be concluded that job satisfaction significantly affects performance. In addition, the coefficient of determination test showed an R² value of 0.219, meaning that job satisfaction (X) influences the performance variable (Y) by 21.9%, while the remaining 78.1% is influenced by other factors not explained in this study. This means that the higher the level of job satisfcation, the higher the performance shown by the workers
