Abstract

Thinking is a fundamental thing that distinguishes humans from other living beings, and humans should contemplate that one's quality is determined by how they think. In learning, critical thinking must be developed optimally. If the students are faced with various problems, then their critical attitude is needed. To cultivate the students' critical thinking skills is the obligation of teachers by providing appropriate learning method and its process enables the students to develop their critical thinking. Early childhood education needs an effort to improve critical thinking skills and requires an interactive class, one of them through thematic learning delivered through a learning procedure with a scientific and habituation approach. This approach fosters critical thinking through student-centered learning. Learning steps with a scientific approach involve  students actively, and they are suitable for developing students' critical thinking including observing, questioning, gathering information, reasoning, and communicating. The steps are implemented through  learning process which is appropriate to the development and characteristics of early childhood. To train critical thinking is very important to be applied since early age. If the development of a more critical way of thinking in the child is well maintained, it will cultivate awareness of thinking from an early age. Furthermore, it can be achieved through learning which involves children such as scientific learning.
